About UsOur desire at Heritage is to develop programs and activities that will minister to the followers of Jesus Christ, and helps them to grow in their spiritual lives. Our goal is to serve the entire family. However, our first concern is for everyone to experience a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He gave to save us from our sins. We all will make many decisions throughout our lives, but the most important decision is to turn from our sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. This decision will determine our eternal destiny. -Pastor Barton

One of the main reasons God created us was to fellowship with Him and to know Him more. He has given prayer to us as a way of doing that. The privilege we have to go before the Lord in prayer was paid for by the death of Jesus, and should never be taken lightly or for granted. Let's commit together to pray that the Church will continue in prayer and become the "House of Prayer" that we know our Lord desires. We are excited to pray, wait, and and watch as we anticipate God's leading.PurposeThe purpose of the Prayer Ministry is to offer opportunities for concentrated prayer for the needs of our church, Pastor, staff, missionaries, families, our nation, and the unsaved. It truly is the engine that empowers all of the other ministries and programs of Heritage Baptist Church. Do you long to be part of a praying church? Come join us as we come boldly to the throne of grace to intercede for our church body for specific church-wide needs. The Prayer Ministry at HBC involves members who feel called to this ministry and who will live and pray according to God's Will. Intercessors pray in their homes and collectively provide prayer support by participating in the Phone Prayer Chain.Helpful Skills/Talents - A willing heart to seek God's heart and will - A passionate desire to learn more of God's character during the "praise" time of prayer - An obedient spirit to heed God's conviction and promptings - A disregard for one's own weakness, and a focus on His provision - An availability to be "on mission" with the purposes of God in this world - Quick Response Prayer - Quick Response Prayer Requests should be called into the church at (703) 729-5436. Messages are checked frequently and a prayer chain is started when a request is received. Wednesday Evening Praise & Prayer ServicesThe Wednesday Evening Praise & Prayer Service is the center of the church's Prayer Ministry, and we encourage you to be part of this special blessing! We begin at 7:00 pm with time in God's Word and then break up into small groups for prayer. There are prayer cards located in the pews to fill out if you have a special prayer request. Simply fill out the card and drop it in the offering plate. You may also click here to submit the prayer request online. We would be happy to pray for your specific needs. Your prayer requests will be handled confidentially and compassionately.Pre-Service PrayerA small prayer group meets every Sunday morning at 8:15 am in the Upper Room to pray over the upcoming service and any special church-wide prayer needs. All are welcome to join us.Telephone Prayer ChainThe Telephone Prayer Chain enables the members of the church to lift up prayer concerns as they develop. It is an effective way of setting in motion the prayers of God's people in the event of an emergency. The Prayer Chain is open to all members of HBC who feel called to this ministry.Email Prayer ChainThe Email Prayer Chain also enables the members of the church to lift up prayer concerns as they develop, and keep abreast of ongoing prayer needs in the congregation and our support missionaries. It is an effective way of setting in motion the prayers of God's people in the event of an emergency. The Prayer Chain is open to all members of HBC who feel called to this ministry. If you would like to sign up for the Email Prayer chain, send an email to Barb at rollinager@aol.com.Always On Our Heart - Continue to remember those who are struggling with long term illnesses - Continue to remember those who are serving in the military - Continue to remember those who do not know the Lord

We love to praise our Lord Jesus! We follow a blended approach, enjoying both great hymns of the faith such as: • Amazing Grace• Victory in Jesus• O How I Love Jesus• There is Power in the Blood• Holy, Holy, Holyas well as the newer Contemporary Praise Music such as:• Mighty to Save• Shout to the Lord• Revelation Song• How great is our God• Open the eyes of my Heart Our choir plays a key role in our worship services and presents musicals at Christmas and Easter. Worshipping Hands, our hand bell choir, and special groups provide additional opportunities for involvement.Music is a dynamic way of bringing praise and worship to our God and King. In Psalm 92, the psalmist David tells us: "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High, to show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and they faithfulness every night."The vision of our music ministry is to fulfill the "Great Commission" by sharing the gospel through music. Our goal is to strengthen the ministry of HBC by preparing the people for worship, encouraging the believer and giving hope to the lost. There is an opportunity for every member of HBC from 4 years of age through adulthood to participate. Please join us as you feel God's call on your family to Make a joyful noise to the Lord.PurposeTo serve the Lord and His church by pointing all people to God. This is done through the vehicle of music. God's Word calls us to praise Him and to lift our voices to Him with joyful singing. We find God calling us through His Word to worship Him, to praise Him, to thank Him, to honor Him, to sing to Him, and to play instruments to Him. Here at HBC, the purpose in our music ministry is to lift up the name of Jesus and to do everything for God's glory. We have a wonderful opportunity to worship and praise our Lord through music. We also have an awesome responsibility to do that with excellence and with our whole heart.Adult ChoirThe adult choir rehearses Sunday afternoons at 4:45 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary, under the direction of our choir director, Pastor David Barton. Our choir sings each Sunday in the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service. The choir also presents special music during holiday seasons, including Christmas and Easter. We are always looking for additional choir members and would love to have you on board!Praise TeamOur praise team is a group of voices that leads Praise and Worship each Sunday, and presents special music in the services and special events. The members of the Praise Team are drawn from members of our choir, and contribute greatly to our worship experience.SolosThere are many opportunities to use your musical gifts and talents through solos and special music when you get involved in the music ministry here at Heritage. Soloists are required to engage in full church membership in addition to joining the adult choir.HBC OrchestraOur latest addition to music ministry is HBC Orchestra! We perform every Sunday morning during the worship service, and on occassions such as Christmas and Easter. Whether you have the basic skills to play a recorder or you are an expert violinist, we would love to play with you! Please contact us at info@myhbc.us for more information.

"We are committed to this life that we might boldly bring the gospel to the lost and humbly serve all men.." Our MissionWe will purpose in our hearts to glorify the Lord with our lives, being led by the Holy Spirit, giving ourselves continually to prayer, studying His Word, and encouraging each other to love and good works. We are committed to this life that we might boldly bring the gospel to the lost and humbly serve all men. In so doing, it is our desire that Christ might be clearly seen in our youth group. What We DoSunday Morning 9:15amCome and join us for one of the most profitable times of your week. 2 Timothy 2:15 says that we are to "study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." In that spirit our Bible studies will teach you how to approach, handle, and apply God's word in your life. Included in these studies are exercises such as: understanding biblical grammar, investigating the originial languages, and exploring the history and geography of the Bible. It is a challenging and dynamic time of learning where the power of God's word is practically realized in your life. And yes, there will be CHEESECAKE and ICE-CREAM :DWednesday Night 6:45pmWednesday nights at Heritage are an INCREDIBLE TIME OF FUN with friends, filled with sweet fellowship. We play CRAZY FLUFFY games (you'll not want to be wearing your Sunday best!) and act out hilarious skits. Sing great contemporary Christian songs that you know. Hear a challenging message from our leaders. And best of all, become part of a discipleship group that will be a support and encouragement to you all week long. It is an awesome time, perfect for bringing your friends! If you would like to know more about our teens group, please send Will Gallison, Youth Pastor, an email: pastorwill@myhbc.us

Our programs and events give your precious children opportunities to develop in many areas of their lives. Luke recorded in the Bible that Jesus' childhood, He grew physically and socially, but most importantly, He grew spiritually. No matter where children are in their process of knowing God, we want to lead them closer to Him in all we do. The Children's Ministry gives us a wonderful opportunity to shape young lives for the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Children's Ministry strives to provide a safe, happy, Christian learning environment that meets the needs of every child in every program we offer. Sunday School is the primary ongoing program for children's Bible teaching. There are many other programs for our children throughout the year, all of which support spiritual growth. Also, many of our church-wide events include activities for the whole family. Because children are active learners, our ministry provides age-appropriate, Biblically based activities that are both fun and challenging.NurseryOur nursery consists of two rooms which are connected via the toddler's restroom and is staffed entirely by volunteers from our congregation. We welcome all children under the age of four.Children's ChurchChildren's Church meets during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Worship Service for children K-2nd grade. The boys and girls come with their parents to the first part of the worship service and are then dismissed to their program where they have the opportunity to learn God's Word. Memorizing Bible verses, singing songs, and listening to skits and testimonies from teachers and friends are incorporated to develop and challenge the children.Sunday SchoolPreschool: Ages 2-3More than just childcare, we teach our little ones Bible truths in a fun and loving environment designed just for them. DOCTRINAL STATEMENTThe Scriptures: We believe that the Scriptures are God’s inerrant Word.God: We believe in one God, perfect and unchangeable in all of His attributes.Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ, Who atoned for sin once and for all by His sacrifice of Himself on the cross. We believe in His bodily resurrection.Holy Spirit: We believe in God the Holy Spirit, Who came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the world and regenerate, sanctify, comfort, and seal forever those who believe in Jesus Christ.Satan: We believe that Satan is a real and personal being who is void of truth. We also believe that he is god of this world who has blinded the eyes of them which believe not, and that he is in constant war against Christians.Salvation: We believe that salvation is a free gift which excludes any possible merit on the basis of works. We believe that the two essential doctrines are repentance and faith. The Lord's Return: We believe that the return of the Lord Jesus Christ will be bodily, personal, and visible; and that it will be pre-millennial, and pre-tribulational.The Church: We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ founded the Church, and commissioned it, and that a church is a group of baptized believers, in whom Christ dwells, and they in Him, under the discipline of the Word of God.Ordinances: We believe that the two ordinances that accompany the Gospel are Believer's Baptism (immersion in water) and the Lord's Supper.Destiny of the Saved: We believe that the souls of those who have trusted the Lord Jesus for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence.Destiny of the Lost: We believe that the souls of the unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery until the final judgment of the Great White Throne at the close of the Millennium, when soul and body, reunited, shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting banishment from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power.Statement of Separation: We believe in Bible separation; to be set apart from the world, sin, self, and Satan, and to be separated "unto the praise of His glory" and the furtherance of the Gospel.

Heritage Baptist Church's mission is to proclaim the gospel, both locally and abroad, that people everywhere might respond to God's grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ.Further, Heritage Baptist Church will seek to edify the saints with the knowledge of the fullness of the Godhead, equip them for the works of the ministry, and enable them to become a unified and devoted body of believers.Ten Values of Heritage Baptist:Lordship of ChristAuthority of the BibleBiblical PreachingPrayerMaturityEvangelismWorshipUnityFamily andExcellence
